Online Medical Chinese Training Open Class Attracted Great Interest from Foreign Students
元培醫事科技大學首度推出線上華語免費體驗課程，受到國外學生熱烈回響，在專業醫護及華語文雙領域的專家引領之下，學員不僅可以學習中文，更能夠習得醫護領域常用的詞彙及對話，讓學習者未來在職涯的選擇及規劃上更具多元性。元培華語文中心成立於2019年，秉持嚴謹的課程設計、活潑的教學課程加上獨一無二的醫護華語課程，讓該中心的醫護課程推出後，旋即獲得來自日本、印尼及越南學生的課程諮詢，邦交國宏都拉斯大使更於2021年3月蒞校參訪了解未來在該國醫護華語課程的推動。
因為疫情影響，許多實體課程活動無法順利進行，許多國外學生也因此無法順利來台就學，華語文中心突破疫情困境，24日晚上首次推出線上醫護華語體驗課程，報名情形相當踴躍，主辦單位將原有一梯次增加為兩梯次進行，總計有將近50位來自國外的學生報名參加。
體驗課程首先邀請國際長黃曉令及中心主任黃雅文進行簡短致詞並播放學校簡介影片。透過影片學生瞭解學校概況，也聽取華語文中心的課程介紹，參與體驗課程的學生跟著華語老師一起學習中文，並搭配兒歌練唱，每位參與學生從不敢開口到開心學習，師生愉快的互動之下結束體驗課程，相約下次再見，為此次課程畫上完美句點。
Yuanpei University of Medical Science and Technology launched free online Chinese Open Class and received enthusiastic responses from foreign students. Due to the impact of the epidemic, many physical course activities cannot be carried out smoothly, and numbers of foreign students cannot come to Taiwan to study as planned. The Chinese Language Center of Yuanpei made a breakthrough in the epidemic situation by launching the online medical Chinese open class for the first time, and the enrollment was much higher than expected.
The Center increased the original one session by two. In total, nearly 50 students from abroad signed up. The Open Class was started by first inviting the Director of the International Student Office, Professor Xiaoling Huang and the Center Director, Professor Yawen Huang to give a short speech and play the school introduction video. Through the video, the students had a glance at the overall scope of the school. Next, they watched the course introduction of the Chinese Language Center.
In the open class, the students learned more of the fact that the Chinese Language Center has provided comprehensive Chinese language courses; also, they found that the university offers the one and only Chinese Medical Training Programs in Taiwan. Under the guidance of experts in both professional healthcare and Chinese language learning, students not only learned Chinese, but also acquired vocabulary and dialogue commonly used in healthcare which let them have more diversified career choices and planning in the future. Students who joined the open class learned Chinese with the Chinese teacher of the Center while singing the nursery song together.
Every participating student started from being too shy to speak up then to learn happily, with a smile on the faces and an attitude of serious study. The Open Class ended with the pleasant interaction between the Chinese teacher and the participating students, and the students also set up the next meeting with the Chinese teacher in the joyful atmosphere, drawing a perfect end to the course. The Center was founded in 2019. By having the elaborately designed curriculum, lively teaching courses and unique medical Chinese training programs, after the launch of the center’s medical related courses, immediately students from Japan, Indonesia, and Vietnam showed the interests when inquiring the course information. With great honor, the Ambassador of Honduras personally paid a visit to the school to learn about the potential future promotion of the medical Chinese training courses in the country's medical care field.
